SERVICING & ADVICE
How do Water Softeners work?
Our softeners contain a resin that removes the magnesium and calcium deposits that cause the water to be hard - this process is called 'ion exchange'. Periodically the resin needs flushing with salt water to regenerate it. This is done automatically; all you have to do is add salt about once a month.
The salt does not enter your water supply. It is simply flushed away by the softener once it has completed its job of cleaning and regenerating the resin.
Choosing the Best Model for You
Whatever the size of your family or your home, we have a water softener that is perfect for you. The best model for you will depend on the hardness of the local water, the number of people in the household, your pattern of usage of water and available space & location.
A correctly-sized model will maximise economy and ensure long reliable service. There is no harm in installing a larger unit than necessary because this of course can offer its advantages.
If you require, we would be happy to offer further guidance and advice on request - please do not hesitate to contact us.
Servicing
We recommend that your water softener be serviced every two years. Regular servicing will ensure that your softener is working to its optimum ability. The service will consist of:
- a full overhaul
- cleaning and lubricating the filters and injector
- checking the hardness and pressure of the local water
- replacing any non-functioning parts
You do not need to remember when your water softener is due for a service - we have a database that will automatically send you a reminder. All we ask of you is to provide us with a convenient time and date to come and perform the service for you.
We service those of our customers who live in the Essex, Hertfordshire, South Cambridgeshire and West Kent area.
